### Which grades and subjects are covered?

Grades 1 to 12, following the CAPS curriculum. There are 60+ subjects, from Life Skills and Natural Sciences in the lower grades to Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Accounting and History in high school, plus home and additional languages. You choose your grade and subjects when you sign up.

### Is there a free plan?

Yes. Creating an account is free, and the free plan includes notes, quizzes, flashcards, past papers, questions by topic and AI study chat, with ads and daily limits. No payment is needed to start.

### How much do the paid plans cost?

Basic is R49 a month, Premium is R99 a month and Elite is R199 a month. Paying yearly costs R392, R792 or R1,592, which is 33% less than paying monthly. Paid plans remove ads and raise your daily limits, and Elite also includes NBT Prep.

### I'm a parent. What does my child get for free?

Notes, quizzes, flashcards, past papers, questions by topic and AI study chat, with ads and daily limits. Paid plans remove the ads and raise the limits, from R49 a month, on the web or in the app.

### Are the past papers in my language?

There are past papers in all 11 spoken official languages, from 2009 to 2026. What's available depends on the subject, grade and year, because not every paper is set in every language.

### Does it follow CAPS?

Yes. Notes, quizzes and flashcards follow the CAPS topics for each subject and grade, and quiz questions use the command words and mark allocations you see in exams.

### Can I use Hlayiso on a computer and on my phone?

Yes. It works in any web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There are also apps on the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery, and one account works on all of them. Snap Solve, which reads a photo of a question, is only in the app.
