                      RADICAL ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION

There is general consensus that the South African economy is in dire need of
a major overhaul. South Africa remains locked in a low-growth, path-
dependent economic trajectory that is currently deepening social inequality
      and highly concentrated ownership patterns.

Various economic growth and development policies have failed to address
economic transformation adequately. The National Development Plan,
Industrial Policy Action Plans and the 2014 to 2019 Medium Term Strategic
Framework are the latest developmental policies developed to address
      transformation.
