SECTION E: SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT
QUESTION 5

 5.1 Below is an incomplete class diagram. Answer the questions below related to this
       class:
                 Employee
                  -    fEmpID
                  -    Fsurname
                  -    fName
                  -    fDateBirth
                  -    fSection
                       CONST PartRegister = ‘ZA’
                  -    createEmpNumber
                  +    Employee
                  +    Employee(sName, sSurname : string)
                  +    getEmpID : string
                  +    setDepartment(sDept:String)
                  +    toString:String

       5.1.1 Name ONE attribute of the class. (1)

       5.1.2 The createEmpNumber is a private method.

                Suggest ONE reason why the programmer is using a private method
                and not a public method. (1)

       5.1.3 How will another program/program segment access the private
                methods of a class?                                                        (1)

       5.1.4 Describe the purpose of a mutator. (1)

       5.1.5 Why is it not necessary to have a mutator or accessor method for the
                field PartRegister?                                                        (1)

       5.1.6 There are two constructors in the class.

                What is this method called where the program can use more than one
                constructor with the same name? (1)

       5.1.7    Given:

                Procedure Employee(sName, sSurname : string)
                Begin
                …
                End;
                Complete the code for the constructor to show how the parameters will
                be assigned.                                                               (2)

                                                                             Please turn over

      5.1.8 What is the main function of the toString method? (1)

      5.1.9 Complete the Delphi statement for the getEmpID method:

                Result :=                                                                     (1)

5.2 Consider the following Delphi code related to the class definition in question 5.1.

      var
        oneObject: Employee;
        sName : string;
        iloop, ilocalCount : integer;
        sSurname : string;
        bFound : boolean;

      Const
         sAlpha =
       'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz';

      begin
      1. bFound := True;
      2. sName := inputbox('data enter','Enter name', 'Gary');
      3. sSurname := inputbox('data enter','Enter suname',
          'Golding');
      4. if length(ssurname) >= 8 then
      5.    begin
      6.       ilocalCount := 1;
      7. while (ilocalCount <= length(sName)) and bFound do
      8.      if pos(copy(sname, ilocalCount, 1), sAlpha) = 0 then
      9.          bfound := false
      10.      else
      11.         inc(ilocalCount);
      12. end;
      13. oneObject:= Employee.create(sName,sSurname);
      14. redout.lines.add(oneObject.toString);
      end;

      5.2.1 Explain the purpose of parameters in methods. (1)

      5.2.2 Clearly identify the object in the segment of code. (1)

      5.2.3 The segment of code contains criteria for the name and surname. Write
                down the criteria for each one. (2)

      5.2.4 Instead of using the WHILE loop, the developer could have used a FOR
                DO loop.

                Explain the difference between using a WHILE loop and a FOR DO
                loop.                                                                         (2)

                                                                                Please turn over

5.3 The question that follow is based on the following code segment.

      The code segment produces the Fibonacci sequence, which is

      1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 …

      var
      iValue1, iValue2, iAnswer : integer;

      1) ivalue1 := 1;
      2) ivalue2 := 1;
      3) sOutput := inttostr(iValue1 ) + ' '
                    + inttostr(iValue2) + ' ';
      4) while iValue1 < 3 do
      5)    begin

      9)         iValue2 := iAnswer;
      10)   end;
      11) end;

      Complete the trace table. The trace table contains the first four (1 – 4) lines, and
      assignments to variables in the program. You do not need to complete any line
      numbers.

             iValue1     iValue2      ianswer          sOutput          iValue1 < 3
