Life Orientation 2 Senior Phase – Marking Guidelines Hlayiso/Mock 2026 NOTES TO MARKERS • These marking guidelines are not exhaustive. Accept any other relevant, correct answer that shows understanding, and use professional judgement. Learners’ own examples from their communities are acceptable. • Each ✓represents ONE mark. • Where a set number of answers is asked for (e.g. TWO), mark only the FIRST answers given, up to that number. • (2 x 2) items: ONE mark for stating a relevant point and ONE mark for explaining it, giving an example or showing the effect. A point that is only stated earns ONE mark. • SECTIONS B and C must be answered in full sentences; SECTION C in paragraphs. Do not award the explanation mark for single words or lists. Answers in SECTION C written in point form: award a maximum of HALF the marks for that bullet. • SECTION C: if a candidate answered all THREE questions, mark only the first TWO questions answered. • Do not award marks for repeated points or penalise the same error twice.
