There was always fighting between his parents and he began to learn that being aggressive was the only way to solve conflict. He often acted out negatively by shouting and pushing others in class. He never opened up to anybody as to what was happening at home. 4.1 Explain what conflict is? (1) When people disagree about something.  Page 2 of 4
4.2 State two emotions you think that Jed would have felt while at home listening to his parents fight. (2) Anger and Sadness.  (Anything suitable) 4.2 Discuss what the problem was in Jed’s home. (2) Jed is exposed to his parents fighting.  He is learning to be aggressive  and he is acting out in class. Question 5 [5] MO Read the following and provide advice: Your friend is being bullied at school. In point form, provide advice that they could use in order to stop the bullying.  You can keep out of the bully’s way.  Stay in a group at break. Stay with your friend if you know that they are being bullied.  Try your best to ignore the bully and the threats that they are making. They want your reaction.  Stand up for yourself. Tell the bully NO in a loud voice. Then walk away.  Stand up for your friend.  Never bully back. Hitting back or shouting back will just encourage the bully to carry on.  The most important thing to do is to tell an adult that you trust and that will help sort out the problem.  Remember the bully is afraid.  (Any 5) Page 3 of 4
