Practice of killing someone who is sick or injured to stop their

2.2 Explain why euthanasia could be considered a moral dilemma. (1X2) (2)

People have differing views on the right to end someone’s life so
by practicing euthanasia, you could be in conflict with those
around you.
People may have differing/ conflicting views within themselves,
(for example their religion may say they should not take life, but
they don’t enjoy seeing someone suffer.) This could put them in a
state of uncertainty about what is right.
Some people could take advantage of those who are unable to
defend themselves and attempt to pass of non-consensual
euthanasia as mercy killing when it was rather for personal gain.
2.3 Discuss how family and friends could be affected by euthanasia of a family

emotions off of her chest.
Realise that there are other jobs out there and do her best to get these
jobs instead of staying focused on the job she didn’t get.

A rite or ritual/ part of a culture that causes harm to the environment, animals
or others around us.
b) Two reasons the ban is inhumane. for 1 mark each; possible answers:

A digital footprint is the information that we put on the internet, which cannot
be erased.

the internet
o They can find information that makes us seem unsuitable for the
position.
o They could see comments that make us seem unprofessional

for so that they show dedication to the work they would be doing.
They could make sure they never post inappropriate things that they could

negative to judge them on.
If a friend posts something negative on their timeline, they should express
their dissatisfaction by commenting on it as soon as they see it and ask to be
untagged. This will distance them from the post and show hiring agents
that even though they were associated with something negative, they
followed the correct procedure to keep their name clean.
They could post proof of things on their CV so that the company knows
their CV is genuine.
Keep their privacy settings up to date, even if the company can get around
this, it could indicate that this person has a level head (depending on the

Learners could take marijuana to decrease exam stress which could

● Imagine that you are a guidance counsellor at your school advising a
student on the dangers of substance abuse. Suggest TWO strategies he/
she could employ to convince his/her peers not to get involved with
marijuana (weed). In your answer, also indicate the positive impact of

with what caused them to want to experiment. They could decide to open
up and you could discover a solution.
Suggest going to speak to a professional/ psychologist to deal with any
underlying issues. The professional/ psychologist may be able to help them
with these issues and suggest alternative solutions/ distractions from
underlying issues.
Keep them away from negative influences so that they no longer feel the
need to fit in with negative people. This will take away the need to take the
drugs in order to be cool/ accepted /or/ this will take away their access to
the drug which will make it more difficult to partake.
Distract them with fun and healthy activities like sport so that they don’t feel
the need to experiment out of boredom. This could not only lead to extra
bonding as friends but also give them a positive and healthy outlet for their
frustrations.
