8.3. Why did they build a dam wall?
To store water in the dry seasons.
8.4. What did people grow and keep around the dam?
Crops and cattle.
8.5. What happened in the dry season?
Water is let out through special gates to provide water for farmers.

Use your writing frame to now write a full paragraph on the Marico-Bosveld Dam:
The Marico-Bosveld dam in the North West province was built 80 years ago. It
was built to store water for the dry seasons as the North West does not get
much rainfall. Crops and cattle are grown and kept by the dam because of god soil
and water supply. In the dry seasons the gates of the dam wall are opened to
provide water for the farmers.
